¡Al fin ha llovido en Canarias! El pasado fin de semana ha caido un buen palo de lluvia, si bien fue demasiado repentino, con bajadas de temperaturas muy bruscas. Por desgracia, esta lluvia no podrá compensar uno de las temporadas otoño-invierno más secas y con más tiempo sur (polvo sahariano y temperaturas altísimas) que recuerdo. Pero al menos hemos podido disfrutar de nieve en el Teide. Hoy ya se encuentran abiertos los accesos por La Esperanza y La Orotava, desde que la tormenta amainara el Domingo. Y el espectáculo merece la pena. ¡Sí señor! Aquí van unas fotos y dos videos: uno desde el pie de Izaña y el otro desde el coche, conduciendo.
Last weekend we had a intense storm sweeping the Canaries after one of the driest wet season i can remember. For 3 days it poured and poured, and strong winds could be felt almost anywhere in the islands. We reached Orange Alarm (don't know what that really means, but the media advised not to use cars or leave home). After a few days of road closure at the National Park of El Teide, today we could finally access the area. It was.... mindblowing! The whole mountain is covered in snow and a large part of the area around El Portillo is completely covered too. The central atrium and the lower areas of the Cañadas (a big wall surronding Teide) are not painted in white already, but their tops remain beautifully white: Guajara looked gorgeous.
